SEED OF ESTHER
spring summer '21
Seed of Esther is the second chapter of a visual narrative that explores mythological biblical themes and characters, such as Esther and her archangels. It is a mystical realm where godly angelic beings convene, and a multidimensional universe where we can connect with our higher selves before transcending to the next version of ourselves. This multi-layered poem further explores the concepts of transition, manifestation, power, and spirituality, using metaphors to represent the way we connect with our own experiences in the world.

ODE TO ASKANA
spring summer '19
Ode to Askana – ‘Askana’ meaning ‘girls’ in Shona (Manyika), is a visual poem that speaks to the trials women go through that shape our journey & existence. Dedicated to the girls/ women, as a tribute to their resilience and strength, as well as a celebration of our battle scars. A nod to the powerful women that came before us & gave us a voice so that ‘we’ & the woman that follow can see farther. The visual narrative centers around our protagonist’s life journey, with the mirror serving as a reflective portal. Reflecting the hopes & desires of the woman as she journeys forward into a new season. A season of transition, healing & overcoming. The visuals were captured at Domboshawa National Monument which is known for being sacred historical land – a place of prayer, spiritual healing & love.

EQLBRM
spring summer '15
Pronounced: Equilibrium. This collection embodies the yearning for balance in a world seemingly devoid of it. It explores the coexistence of noise and silence, where purity finds a space amidst the chaos. The embroidered linear and geometric patterns are abstract representations of Zimbabwe's urban landscape, specifically the iconic Birchenough Bridge.

OTHA
spring summer '14
Reclaiming the Narrative of the Modern African Woman.
OTHA is a contemporary exploration of womanhood that breaks free from the confines of the "mama Africa" stereotype. We are redefining what it means to be a modern African and Zimbabwean woman in a global world. The collection draws inspiration from Black urban retro aesthetics, the rise of 21st-century androgyny, and the blurred lines of identity. It's a journey of rediscovering a new Zimbabwean aesthetic defined by us. In collaboration with local artisans, we feature 100% locally woven straw hats and bags handcrafted by skilled Zimbabwean artisans. The range plays with contrasting elements: fluid and structured shapes layered disproportionately to create a relaxed yet tailored look. The sophisticated autumnal color palette features olive, ink, and canary accents balanced with off-whites. Fabrics like 100% cotton, suiting, crepe, chiffon, and organza chiffon explore the concept of being seen and unseen, juxtaposing masculine silhouettes with feminine textiles.
